Unita Foundazione Ghana was established in Ghana October 2009. It is an independent organisation with no religious, political or governmental affiliations, that operates in Ghana and Italy.

1.Enabling deprived children,their families and their communitie to meet their needs and to increase their ability to participate in and benefit from their societies.

- Education for all
Learning is crucial for development and one of the most powerful tools in breaking the cycle of poverty.
Unita Foundazione of Ghana invests more in education than any other programme area and works to ensure that any other programme that children,young people and adults get the knowledge and life skills they need to realise their full potential.
Our school improvements programme,which is a major part of our formal education work,delivers Support every aspect of a school essential in creating the best learning environment for children. The active participation of children and communities in school governance. And hols the individual school management accountable for children’s enrolment,attendance,learning and successful completion.
- Economic security
Thousands of people struggle to meet their most basic daily needs,leaving them extremely vulnerable to economic shocks or disasters. Children are often the first to feel the affects,being forced to go hungry or leave school to earn an income for the family.
Unita Foundazione of Ghana works with poor children and families to build up their income and assets,helpng them to become more resilient and better placed to cope when the worst happens.
We also help young people to acquire the skills and knowledge they need to secure a livelihood so that they can support their families and break the intergenerational cycle of poverty.
Girls particularly face high levels of violence and abuse.Protecting children from violence is a key priority for Unita Foundazione of Ghana.Violence against children has a devastating impact-thereatening children’s survival,development and participation in society.It is widespread and a fundamental breach of their human rights.
Child protection is central to everything we do and we deliver targeted programmes to address specific protection issues-such as child trafficking,corporal punishments in schools,female genital cutting and child marriage.<(p>
- Water and sanitation
Unita Foundazione of Ghana helps thousands of children to access safe water
Water and sanitation is one of Unita Foundazione of Ghana core programme areas.We work with communities to improve access to safe drinking water and to raise awareness of importance of waste managements.
We also provide water points in communities and schools especially in rural areas,and establish community-bases organisations to ensure the continued management and maintenance of water points.
- Sexual health,including HIV
Teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases affect tens of thousands of children and youths because they are denied the right to protect themeselves.Unita Foundazione of Ghana response programmes help to empower children and young people so that they can realise their full potential.
We directly involve children and young people in all of our work,helping them to identify and find solutions.We work with partners and communities to: Support quality reproductive and sexual health education and services.
- Advocate for the right of children and youths living a world whith HIV
- Provide prevention,care and support services to those living with HIV and AIDS
- Challenge beliefs and attitudes that maintain unequal power relation between the sexes.
